Dr. Assi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine (BUSM) and a medical oncologist in the section of Hematology/Oncology at Boston Medical Center (BMC).
He graduated from medical school at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He further completed his training in Hematology/Oncology at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, while also receiving a Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences. His work is focuses on gastrointestinal malignancies, with special focus on neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). His aim is to establish himself as an independent clinical investigator, with a focus on delivering novel therapeutics in NETs. His current research focuses on studying prognostic biomarkers in pancreatic NETs.
